TITANIC Jack wins a ticket to go on the Titanic.  Jack notices Rose standing by herself, and Rose seems very unhappy with her fiance.  She seems sad and heartbroken, but Jack becomes friends with her.  They slowly start falling in love.  The titanic hits an iceberg; in result, it starts to sink.  They have to escape and try to stay alive; however, there are so many people in the Titanic only a few will survive.  Jack lets Rose lay on the wooden door while he stays in the cold water; in the end, Jack lets go and Rose survives.   CORDUROY Corduroy is a little bear, and he wants someone to buy him from the store he lives in.  A girl sees him and asks her mom if they can buy him; however, she says no, because he is missing a button.  That night, Corduroy starts searching for his missing button; then, he finds a mattress with buttons and thinks one might fit him.  He falls over trying to pull one of the buttons off; as a result, ...

The Pianist Character Analysis

The protagonist of "The Pianist" is Wladyslaw Szpilman that is played by Adrien Brody.  Szpilman lived in Warsaw, Poland.  He had a mother, a father, two sisters, and one brother.  They were Jewish.  Szpilman worked in a Polish radio station as a pianist.  He was very talented and famous.  He studied at the Chopin school of Music in Warsaw.  He wrote a few music pieces that are still played now days.   Szpilman had a shy personality but at the same time friendly.  He was also very patient not knowing how long the war would last.  He hid in different places and was very quiet so that other people wouldn't find him.  Before his life changed drastically, he knew a few people here and there.  He was able to find a job even though the situation was already bad.  Szpilman managed to get a job in the ghetto to be able to support for his family.  That means he wouldn't mind risking his life for his parents and broth...

Mood and Tone of a Scene

There is a scene from the film "The Pianist" in which soldiers make Jewish workers line up.  They speak very loudly and with a very mean tone.  That tone is supposed to make the prisoners afraid.  The Nazis walk very straight and have a very serious face.  This makes them look greater than everyone else.  They look very arrogant and are very disdainful.  In this scene the Nazis pull some of the Jewish prisoners out of the line.  It seems as they were choosing those who looked tired and old.  The others who looked better stayed safe in the line.  After they got the Jews out of the line, they made them lay down on the ground.  It seems that it was a Nazi; anyways, he took out a gun and shot each one of them in the head.  They died instantly after being shot.  This was a very traumatic scene for the other Jews watching.  The mood from this scene was very frightening.   This movie had many scenes that include...

Before the Nazis invaded Poland, the Jews lived a normal life just like everyone else.  They had breakfast, did their everyday routines, had lunch, worked, and also spent time with their families.  However, when the Nazis invaded the cities their lives started to change.  Families were forced to move to the ghettos that the Nazis had established.  Their lives had changed but not yet to its maximum potential.  They had to wear a colored triangle in their jacket to be identified as different.    World War II was making a big impact and was doing an irreversible damage.   In the film, a few Jewish families are sitting in their tables having dinner.  When suddenly the Nazi armed forces drive into the neighborhood  and go into a building that people live in.  Everyone who lived in the neighborhood turned their home lights off as soon as they heard the Nazi forces.  They evacuated the entire building.  In the upp...

Cho-Cho was deeply in love with Pinkerton.  When they both got married, she even gave her religion up.  In other words, her entire life was changing, and she was doing it for him.  It took long for Pinkerton to return to Cho-Cho.  She had hope that even after 3 years he would return.  His return was not for Cho-Cho, but it was for his child.  Pinkerton wanted to take him, because he would have a better life in America.  Cho-Cho could not stand the pain of giving away her child, so she decided to take her life away.  She took her life so her child could live a happy life.  I feel that she was very innocent and love made her blind. Her deep love didn't make her realize the truth behind everything that had happened in her life.  Pinkerton didn't appreciate Cho-Cho's sincerity and love that he decided to get married with another woman in America.
